Ever since my pumpkin incident on Halloween night, I am acutely aware of the poop emoji when I use chocolate buttercream on my cupcakes.
Just in case you didn't hear - let me recap my Halloween night. After spending countless hours carving an intricate cupcake design into my pumpkin, it was mistaken for a poop emoji by a rogue trick or treater. I was devastated. My ego was bruised - not to mention the embarrassment that I felt for mistakenly putting an inappropriate Jack O'lantern on my front porch for all to see. Uuugg.
From that point on, I started using my 1M tip to swirl the chocolate buttercream on my cupcakes so that I don't make another embarrassing poop emoji faux pas. (I can't believe that I just used the word "poop" so many times in a cupcake post.)
½ c of coffee
½ c of butter
1/3 c cocoa powder
1/3 c of sour cream
1 c of flour
1 c of granulated sugar
¾ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp chili powder
Heat butter and coffee in saucepan until butter melts.
Beat eggs and sour cream in bowl of standing mixer.
Whisk cocoa into melted butter mixture.
Slowly pour cocoa mixture into egg mixture. Beat.
Add dry ingredients to bowl and stir until just combined.
Scoop batter into lined cupcake pans.
