Anyone else obsessed with the side by side photos of people wearing clothes that they bought on the internet next to a picture from the website with a model wearing the same outfit?👗 First of all - I've had my own experience with this waaaaay too many times.😅 Jeans on my 5 foot tall frame look nothing like they do on uber thin and incredibly tall women who model them for ads. Maybe that's why I find these side by side photos especially hilarious.🤷🏻♀️ Just for laughs, I decided that I'd create my own side by side pictures to post for you. No, I'm not going to be sharing any awkward swimsuit pictures. This one features side by side photos of a chocolate chip cookie recipe. One is a version made by the incredible Butternutbakeryblog.com and the other is my version. 🤣 Fair to say - they nailed it - I didn't. The photos of these amazing looking bakery style chocolate chip cookies on the website caught my eye from the very beginning. I had visions of recreating these masterpieces in my own kitchen so I followed the recipe as closely as possible. And even though my cookies may not have looked as appealing as the website version - the recipe did not disappoint - they were delicious!! 🍪 I've tried to figure out what went wrong with my execution of these little goodies and I think I've narrowed it down to 2 things: salt and chips. I added chopped chocolate to the tops of the dough before baking and they didn't hold their shape like a beautiful (and more stable) chocolate chip. I also got so excited about baking my cookies that I completely forget to sprinkle the sea salt over the top. 😏 Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 1/4 cup flour 1 teaspoon cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup European style butter, room temperature 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed 1/4 cup sugar 1 egg + 1 egg yolk, room temperature 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 cup dark chocolate chunks 3/4 cup milk chocolate Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
Firmly tap cookie tray on counter to flatten warm cookies but not too hard because well... 🤦🏻♀️ When cookies cool, transfer to cooling rack to cool.
Ciao!
