We are grand-dog sitting this precocious pup for the next couple of weeks.🐶 It's been so much fun to have a giant teddybear in our house again.🐻 He really is great company. I immediately launched back into my old habit of narrating my day to this attentive but non-responsive pooch. I can't be the only person who feels compelled to inform their pet where they're going every time they walk out of a room.😆🙃 Having a dog in the house again just feels right. Yes, there's dog we have muddy paw prints all over our floors and smudges on all our windows but I also have the most excited walking partner ever. There's no way I can bail on a walk with those big brown eyes staring at me. Somehow I feel like the canine influence in the house this week effected my baking though. I accidentally made cookies that very closely resembled dog treats - only in appearance.😬😅 Maybe it's just because I've been doling out dog treats by the fistfuls this week but I couldn't help but see the connection between my shortbread and the Milk bones.😂🦴 These Browned Butter Shortbread Cookies are really delicious. They're crunchy, crispy, sweet and the perfect little treat to enjoy with a cup of afternoon tea.🫖 Please don't be discouraged by my most unflattering description and make a batch for yourself.😅 Browned Butter Shortbread 20 Tablespoons butter 2 cups flour 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/3 cups sugar 1/4 cup dry milk powder 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 teaspoons water
Bake 16-18 minutes at 325. Cool 10 minutes. Cut at scored marks. Serve. Ciao!
