I've said this before but I'll say it again for those in the back - I'm not a professionally trained chef.😅👩🏻🍳 I learned to cook from the best - my mom and my grandmother - and my passion for cooking led to me starting this blog where I can pass along some of the tips and tricks that I learned about making delicious food with all of you. I still believe that the best recipes are the ones that are passed down through generations. Things are a lot different today but I grew up in the 70's when there were no cooking shows on tv - especially not our cable-less television - and You Tube recipe tutorials were not yet invented.😅📺 I learned by working along side my family members as they prepared meals and eventually progressed to creating my own recipe experiments. I'm thankful to have grown up in a family that encouraged me to "help" in the kitchen.😅 There's no question that Gordon Ramsey is an exceptional cook. He's probably inspired thousands of people to pursue culinary careers but I don't necessarily think that he needs to be instructing young children in the kitchen.😬 I'm here to remind you that you don't have to have Gordon Ramsey experience to teach kids how to cook. Invite your kids into the kitchen. Recognize that it's going to take more time to make food, it's going to be chaotic and messy but your kids will be learning valuable lessons. Even very young chefs can make these scrumptious ham and cheese croissants with little to no assistance - depending on age. They're delicious for breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner. I recommend making some extras - wrapping them individually and freezing them so you can pop them in the oven or microwave for a quick and easy treat. If you've got an aspiring cook in your house - you need to save this recipe. It's easy - you can print it (using the button at the bottom) or you can save it in your email (using the subscribe button in the top right corner of the blog).🤣 Ham and Cheese Croissants 4 all-butter croissants, cut in half horizontally 4 thin slices of ham 8 slices gruyère or Swiss cheese 1 Tablespoon butter, melted 1 Tablespoon honey 1/2 Tablespoon Dijon mustard 1/2 Tablespoon brown sugar 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
Bake 7-9 minutes at 375. Ciao!
