I feel like a community kitchen update is long overdue. A lot has been happening behind the scenes and it's time that I caught you up. The big news is that we have drawings!!! I don't know if looking at architectural drawings makes everyones head spin - but it sure does mine.😵💫 It takes me longer than most to decipher the symbols and sort through the codes on these detailed drawings but I find them fascinating. Just in case reading permit drawings aren't your thing either - allow me to summarize... we've got an amazing commercial kitchen space, a coffee roasting room, a fully accessible church kitchen, a gigantic teaching island and a beautiful and functional event space with plenty of storage. As if that wasn't exciting enough - I also have the plans and drawings for our community garden that will be just outside the community kitchen.👩🏻🌾 So if you're not a cook but gardening is more your thing - we're preparing a place for you as well. There are still lots of hoops and hurdles to jump through before we break ground but we're making progress. I can hardly wait until we can start serving the people in my community with this kitchen. I believe strongly that there are plenty of people who will benefit from this kitchen. Anyone with a food based business looking to expand, residents who need cold storage rental space, adults and children who want to learn to cook, groups wanting to meal prep cooperatively, coffee bean entrepreneurs, chicken processors and anyone looking for a beautiful space to host an event. The dream is big and watching it come to life is very exciting. I have no doubt that God has His hand in all of this. While I patiently wait for the next phase of kitchen progression - I'll keep doing my thing and filling catering orders. I get more requests for sugar free desserts every year so I feel like it's time that I shared my favorite sugar free cake recipe. If you've ever considered dipping your toe into the sugar free waters - I would encourage your to give this recipe a try. I think you're gonna like it.
