Between the months of March and June we celebrate 90% of our family birthdays. Throw in Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter and a few anniversaries it feels like we've got something to celebrating every weekend.🎂 No complaints from me - in this house we mark every birthday, graduation, anniversary and significant accomplishment with food and food is my love language. 😅🍰 So Happy Everything - party on! Since I'm the primary organizer of all commemorative brunches, special dinners and the baker of nearly all celebratory desserts, it goes without saying that Spring is a busy time of year for me.🍰 Just curious: What do you think is a normal amount of butter for someone to use in a single month?😂🧈 I went though more than 35 pounds of butter last month.😬😳 Just to be clear, not ALL of that was consumed by my family - some of that went to catering orders. 😅 A couple of weeks ago, I made 14 dozen cupcakes in an assortment of flavors for an event. I make a lot of different cupcake flavors but vanilla cupcakes are by far the most requested flavor. I've made them for birthdays, engagement and graduation parties, weddings. It's a classic flavor that everyone loves. Just a warning: When you master the perfect vanilla cupcake and you too, can earn the distinct honor of being named celebratory baker for your family too.🧁 Vanilla Cupcakes 1 cup sugar 1 3/4 cups cake flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup butter, room temperature 2 eggs, room temperature 1/3 cup sour cream 1/4 cup canola oil 1 1/2 Tablespoons vanilla 2/3 cup whole milk, room temperature
One batch makes 20 cupcakes.
Ciao!
