Kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, boating, fishing - I love all the summer water activities. 🏄🏻♀️Obviously, some of those are out of the question this summer considering my current one footed situation. But I've been strategizing about how to get myself into a kayak ever since I broke my foot. My plan involves some well placed garbage bags, zip ties and creative storage for my crutches. I'm determined to get in some kayaking time. 😅 Can you tell that I'm feeling exercise deprived? It took some convincing to get my better half on board with my kayaking plan but I think I've finally won him over. 😉Since, he's a crucial part of my master plan, I may or may not have had to bribe him. 😂 It took a couple of weeks, but I've finally got all the details worked out. Unfortunately, the weather isn't cooperating now. But rest assured, the first rain free day next week, you'll see me out on the lake, with my booted foot propped up on the top of my pink kayak. 🛶#kayaklife Summer water activities are my favorite. What better way is there to cool off on a hot summer day? My next project is to devise a pool float with some sort of traction device that will keep this crazy foot boot dry. Feel free to send your suggestions my way. 😂 Kayaking, pool time, campfires, watermelon, s'mores - all requirements for me this summer. A classic s'more made over a campfire is the epitome of summer. 🔥 I'm very intentional about how I eat my s'more to optimize the experience too. 😂 I roast the marshmallow to golden perfection and I eat it from the outside in. Then I eat the graham cracker and then finally nibble on the chocolate. A deconstructed s'more is the best. Don't even try and debate me on this. 🍫😂 I'm a fan of everything s'more really. If you missed my S'mores Bars recipe - you NEED to check it out. They are AMAZING! And if you just feel like you need even more s'mores in your life, try my S'mores Cinnamon Roll recipe. The perfect combination of buttery soft rolls, with a dusting of graham cracker, a sprinkling of chocolate chips and a marshmallow frosting. U N B E L I E V A B L E !!! S'mores Cinnamon Rolls 2 and 3/4 cups flour 3 Tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup milk 3 Tablespoons butter 1 large egg Filling 1 Tablespoon cinnamon 1/3 cup sugar 2 full graham crackers, crushed into fine crumbs 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips 3 Tablespoons butter Frosting 3 Tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature 1/2 cup marshmallow creme (Fluff) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 Tablespoons heavy cream 2/3 cup powdered sugar
Spread frosting over warm rolls. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Why are s'mores reserved for summer? If you ask me, s'mores shouldn't be saved for a specific season. These s'more cinnamon rolls are definitely going to be making monthly appearances in the Davis house.
Ciao!
